What are Bio-Based Materials?
Biobased plastics are plastic products whose raw materials are partially or fully derived from biomass. For example, biomass materials such as corn, sugar cane, cellulose, fish skin and melon seed shells are used in plastic production.

Microorganisms in the environment convert the material into natural substances, such as water, carbon dioxide and other composting materials, without artificial additives. The process of degradation is largely determined by environmental conditions (e.g., temperature or location), material properties, or application.
Fully Biodegradable Materials
Fully biodegradable, plastic-free and recyclable innovations will be the gold standard for bio-based leather alternatives.
Natural Fiber Welding's Mirum is emerging in the marketplace as a material that is not only USDA certified as 100% bio-based and plastic-free, but is also fully recyclable and biodegradable in a safe, circular manner.
The purpose of biomaterials development
Environmental protection material refers to the national economic structure, in order to prevent environmental pollution, improve the ecological environment, the protection of natural resources for the purpose of technological product development.

Do you think this is a better option?
Absolutely. It is 2023! and we’re running out of time to turn this world around. By working with innovative plant-based materials, we can significantly reduce the environmental impacts of the fashion industry whilst protecting workers in the supply chain and opening the conversation as to Who Made My Handbag and What Is My Handbag Made of?

Transparency, visibility and sustainability. What do you think more people should know about the leather industry? Cattle ranching is the largest driver of Amazon deforestation with 20% of the Amazon already destroyed.
